IE FSI/TSI/TFSI FDS PERFORMANCE INTERCOOLER KIT IETPCB1
Regular price $1,899.00 Save $-1,899.00The Integrated Engineering MK5/MK6 FDS intercooler system was built from the ground up to offer the ultimate in performance for your vehicle. When increasing the power output of your engine it is extremely important to ensure it has the proper cooling to match. It packs a very large intercooler core into the space available, a full 54% larger than the OEM core. This large core delivers cool air to the engine under all circumstances, increasing power and torque and simultaneously reducing heat soak.
IE FDS system
Our end tanks feature the FDS (flow distribution system), which is totally unique to our intercooler. By incorporating flow distribution channels into the inlet side end tank, air is evenly distributed from the top to bottom of the core, maximizing cooling efficiency. Other intercoolers on the market only allow natural airflow through the core, which is primarily on the bottom side near the inlet, making for poorly distributed cooling. In lab tests, temperatures across the IE FDS core were 65% more even than the nearest competitor. This proves more effective use of the core, resisting heat soak more so than any competitor and consistently delivering a cool charge.
REDUCING HEAT SOAK
Heat soak occurs when the heat generated exceeds the cooling capacity of the intercooler. The most common symptom is the noticeable loss of power after long term acceleration or several back to back power pulls. By greatly increasing the core size and useable area of the core with FDS technology, we have eliminated the heat soak. The following charts are 30 second apart power pulls showing how the intake air temperature remains consistently lower than the OEM intercooler.
HIGH QUALITY USA CAST END TANKS
High quality American castings for the intercooler end tanks have perfect surface finish and absolutely none of the casting flaws commonly seen in import intercoolers which can destroy your engine. This attention to detail in the design process means that our intercooler is actually lighter than many import intercoolers, while simultaneously having a much larger core volume. These features provide an intercooler with perfect OE fitment and the utmost highest level of performance available today.
HEAT DISTRIBUTION
As seen in the thermal image below, IE FDS technology helps distribute the charge air more evenly across the core, effectively utilizing more of the intercooler core. In the "WITH FDS" image, you will notice that intake temps (measured vertically in 8 locations, on the right-hand side) are all relatively the same color or temperature. In the "NO FDS" image you will notice the bottom 4 measuring points are significantly hotter than the top 4, meaning that the heat is not distributed evenly. The bottom right hand corner on the intercooler without the FDS system it is also visually hotter than the rest of the intercooler core. This results in the non-FDS intercooler having extreme temperature variance and being less effective at keeping your intake air temperatures low.
PERFECT FITMENT
Our engineers also went to great lengths to ensure quality and perfect fitment. The end tanks were carefully CAD designed and CFD flow optimized. All mounting bosses are fully machined to ensure a perfect fit. Even the inlet and outlet barb connections are completely machined, ensuring a leak free seal.

We have tested the IE FDS intercooler to over 600hp successfully with room to grow. Supported power is in the 650-700hp range, but will ultimately depend on the turbo setup and operating conditions.

IE MK7 FDS INTERCOOLER GOLF R, GTI, S3, & A3 IETPCI1
Regular price $1,899.00 Save $-1,899.00Product Features
TECHNICAL FEATURES
When you begin modifying your VW MK7/Audi MK3 Golf R, GTI, A3, or S3 it will become necessary to upgrade the intercooler. Once upgrades such as ECU tuning, exhaust systems, and turbo upgrades are introduced, intake air temperatures begin to rise, resulting in massive power loss. The IE front-mount intercooler system was designed to directly replace the factory unit, while utilizing a much larger core and our proven FDS (Flow Distribution System) to effectively utilize that larger core. These features allow for much higher cooling efficiency than the factory system, thus reducing intake air temperatures and safely increasing horsepower output. The IE FDS intercooler is also a direct fit, requiring no cutting, modification, or time-wasting hassle during installation. Read below for more in-depth information on each intercooler feature.
ELIMINATE HEAT SOAK
Heat soak occurs when the heat generated exceeds the cooling capacity of the intercooler. The most common symptom is the noticeable loss of power after long term acceleration or several back to back power pulls.
By greatly increasing the core size and useable area of the core with FDS technology, we have eliminated the heat soak, keeping the intake air temperatures consistently lower than OEM and competition intercoolers.
PRECISION ENGINEERED
Unlike other intercoolers that are simply put together to fit on the car and offer a larger core, the IE FDS intercooler line receives special treatment from start to finish. Our engineering department use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to optimize the end tanks and FDS system for minimum pressure drop and maximum flow.
Once the end tanks have been designed and flow has been optimized, the 3D models head over to our 3D printing studio to manufacture the initial prototype. The 3D printed end tanks fastened onto a production core for testing. To validate the FDS technology, we test each model of intercooler in a controlled environment on our in-house engine dyno.
A total of 16 temperature probes are placed on the core, with a column of 8 on either side. This allows us to collect data at multiple points on the inlet side and outlet side of the intercooler to verify temperature distribution across the core. Once that data has been collected, it is analyzed and used to determine if changes in location or pitch of FDS channels are necessary before going to production.
DECREASED PRESSURE DROP
Along with lower intake air temperatures, the large core within the IE intercooler also decreases pressure drop when compared to the factory unit. Simply put, pressure drop is the amount of pressure that is lost as air travels through the intercooler. As boost pressure is raised, pressure drop typically begins to climb. By using a larger core that flows much more freely than the factory core, pressure drop is reduced, reducing the need for the turbocharger to work harder to produce the required boost levels.
HIGH-QUALITY CONSTRUCTION, PERFECT FITMENT
You will also find that the IE intercooler receives the same attention to detail and quality as every other IE product, with U.S cast and machined end tanks, precise TIG welding, and a dense bar-and-plate core. Every intercooler is tested on our in-house intercooler testing station before shipping, ensuring that it is ready to install.
COMPLETE KIT
The IE MK7 intercooler comes complete with high quality, 4 ply reinforced silicone hoses, which allow connection directly to the factory outlet and throttle pipes. We also include every piece of hardware needed for installation, as well as a thorough installation manual.

Audi RS3 (8V) Intercooler - FMINT4
Regular price $2,350.00 Save $-2,350.00*Please note, this is ordered as required and can have an approx 2 week turnaround*
Product Description
Following on from our very successful intercooler for the RS3 8P chassis, the Forge intercooler for the RS3 8V chassis builds on our reputation for delivering cores that offer real-world increases in power and temperature drops.
Whilst the 8V chassis shares many components with the older 8P, the space available behind the bumper is a different shape and the crash bar has also changed. This required a whole new intercooler and crash bar setup for this latest chassis*
The RS3 8V core is a huge 640x250x100 and of bar and plate design. This gives it a huge 55% more surface area than stock, and an even more impressive 94% more volume. The end tanks are made with integrated pipes in order to retain the stock boost hoses, though you can also replace the hoses with our FMKT024 boost hose set if you so wish. Just like on the 8P chassis, we supply a genuine Audi RS3 crash bar which we modify in house in order to accept the new larger core, then finish both the crash bar and core in our standard black crackle finish powder coat for maximum longevity.
On the standard car we tested on, it made 362bhp completely stock (so largely in line with what Audi quote) with a peak intake temperature of 58 deg C. With just this intercooler fitted and no other modifications, the same car made 386bhp with a peak inlet temperature of 23 deg C, a gain of 24bhp and a drop of 35 deg C. Gains on mapped cars will likely be even more impressive as the stock intercooler core really starts to struggle on stage 1 mapped cars.
The kit contains full instructions for installation, which should take around 3.5 hours, and a complete kit which includes everything needed.
